Customers from the CIS countries

Trade relations between Poland and other countries are developing dynamically. The central location of our country in Europe strengthens its position in the exchange of goods and facilitates the fast transport of goods. Although we cooperate with many countries, trade with the CIS countries, i.e. the Commonwealth of Independent States, plays a very important role. Which countries are worth cooperating with and how to conduct the entire process of trade?

Trade relations with the CIS countries

The Commonwealth of Independent States is a grouping of the countries of the former USSR, which includes: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Poland's main trading partners are, first of all, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. Exports of goods to countries outside the euro area are clearly growing and markets outside the EU, especially developing countries, are increasingly opening up to long-term trade cooperation.

The most frequently exported goods from Poland are chemical, paper, electromechanical and agri-food products. We mainly export to Ukraine fast-moving goods such as food, hygiene products, cosmetics and washing agents. Increasingly, we also supply machines and devices for the energy industry, building materials and household appliances. In turn, we buy Ukrainian metallurgical products and mineral products. The number of Polish investments in Ukraine, which are implemented through the Warsaw Stock Exchange, is also dynamically growing.

Poland is also very active in trade with Russia. The Russians buy from us products of the electromechanical, paper, metallurgical, light and chemical industries as well as food. Poles, in turn, import mineral products from Russia, such as natural gas and crude oil. One of our major trading partners is also Belarus, which buys from us products of the chemical and electromechanical industries, plastics and food, mainly of animal origin. We, in turn, import petroleum products, fertilizers and wood products.

Their proximity to each other is an undoubted facilitation for trade between Poland and the CIS countries. Thus, the cost of transport is much lower than in most European Union countries, so low transport prices definitely speak in favor of Poland. Also, the cultural and business proximity as well as a similar approach to consumption facilitate the establishment of new business contacts.

Organization of goods exchange

Trade with the CIS countries it is exceptionally easy due to the geographical proximity of the location to each other. The most frequently used means of transport between Poland and the East is railroad and trucks. The increasingly popular ones can also be used to transport goods express freight trainsthat use the line of the New Silk Road, which is a reference to the tradition of the historical Silk Road. Transport by rail it is extremely fast and allows the transport of perishable goods such as fresh food and meat.

Organizing the exchange of goods should start primarily with formal issues - it should be verified what documents are required in the country of the buyer of the goods, and what are the Polish standards for imported products. It is worth remembering that some goods require additional documents, such as a certificate of origin, a veterinary certificate in the case of meat or a phytosanitary certificate in the case of plants and plant products.

The best solution is to use the services of the dealing company international forwardingwhich, thanks to its knowledge and experience, will help us choose the right means of transport for our individual needs and will take care of all the necessary documents. It is worth being interested multimodal transportconnecting two or more means of transport, which may be the most optimal solution for transporting our goods.
